Homemade Applesauce

Who doesn’t love applesauce? My kids are obsessed with it and I love that I can make it at home without all the added sugar. This recipe can be made in an Instant Pot or in a Slow Cooker. 🙂

Start out by gathering your ingredients and washing the apples.

Peel the apples using an Apple Peeler and Corer or by hand. I absolutely love my peeler, it saves so much time!!!!

Add the remaining ingredients and mix.

For the Instant Pot: cook on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes and then allow a 10 minute natural pressure release before manually releasing the pressure. For the SSlow Cooker: Cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours until the apples are soft.

Perfect! 🙂 Your kitchen should now smell amazing, and you can blend the apples with an Immersion Blender or mash by hand.

Enjoy! You can store your applesauce in a Small Mason Jar a Small Pyrex Dish or Disposable Popsicle/Yogurt Tubes.

Instant Pot or Slow Cooker

Ingredients

-10-12 Gala Apples

-1 Tsp Cinnamon or 1 Cinnamon Stick

-2 TBSP Agave or Honey

-1 Cup water

-2 TBSP Sugar (Optional)

Directions

  1. Wash the apples. Peel and core the apples using an Apple Peeler and Corer or by hand.
  2. Add all of the ingredients to your Instant Pot or Slow Cooker and mix.
  3. For the Instant Pot: cook on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes and then allow a 10 minute natural pressure release before manually releasing the pressure. Blend with an immersion blender or mash by hand.
  4. For the Slow Cooker: Cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours until the apples are soft. Blend with an immersion blender or mash by hand.
  5. Allow the applesauce to cool and then Enjoy! Store in Disposable Popsicle/Yogurt Tubes or a Small Mason Jar. 😊
