Okay, I have to admit… about seven years ago, I could only cook Hamburger Helper. LOL! It’s a place to start, right? Well, NOW I can cook almost anything… and I decided to convert this family favorite to an Instant Pot recipe, minus the boxed ingredients. 😉 It turned out AMAZING. So amazing, in fact that my 7 and 5 year olds asked me to send it in their lunches for school today! It’s super simple to make and only calls for a few ingredients.

Here’s what you’ll need for this tasty dish:
Start out by turning the Instant Pot to sauté mode and allow it to heat up then add the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic and then add the ground beef and sauté until brown. Drain the grease.
Add the flour, salt and pepper and stir. Mix the onion soup mix with the beef broth and pour into the Instant Pot. Add the sour cream, cream of mushroom soup and the uncooked egg noodles and stir.
Close the lid, turn the venting knob to “Sealing” and cook on HIGH pressure for 7 minutes before quickly releasing the pressure.
Stir and Serve! YUM!
Enjoy!

How big of a bag of noodles did you use?
It was a 16oz (1 pound) bag.
This was so good! I will make it again for sure!!!
Do you think you could do this with chicken? I’m new to the Instant pot. Trying to find my first few recipes to try. We don’t eat beef. Could I chop up some chicken and toss it in? Any thoughts on the best way to do that? Thank you in advance!
Hi there!! Yes you can! You can either dice up the chicken and brown it a bit before you add everything else, or you could leave it raw. In 7 minutes it will cook when diced 🙂
Perfection! Even my picky family loved it! So quick and easy to make! Thank you!
Made this tonight-it was delicious!! Definitely going to be making this one again!
So glad you liked it!! 🙂
You show in the picture dried chopped onion but in the recipe you call for 1/2 chopped onion but you don’t say if it’s dried or fresh?? Which did you use?
Fresh onion 🙂
You can use either. I prefer using fresh but I used what I had on hand when I made this particular recipe. 🙂
