Alright, so you’ve mastered making yogurt in your Instant Pot, but now you’re hearing that you can make yogurt without boiling the milk first… Well, you’ve heard correctly! It makes life easier and it turns out just as good! 🙂

Step one, grab some Fairlife Milk at your local grocery store. Also grab a yogurt starter of your choice. Any brand works, (Fage, chobani, etc) Just make sure it has active live cultures in it.

Pour the milk into the Instant Pot, add the starter and stir well. If you’re adding sugar or vanilla, you may do so now.

Put the lid on. It doesn’t need to be sealed though since it doesn’t come to pressure during the Yogurt cycle.

Push the Yogurt button and make sure it says “Normal” NOT “Less” Use the “+” and “-“ button to adjust the time to say 8:00 for 8 hours.

When the 8 hours are up, put the yogurt in the fridge and let it cool at least 6 hours or overnight.

Ingredients

-1 gallon Fairlife Milk

-2 TBSP starter yogurt of your choice. (must have live cultures)

Directions

1.Pour the milk into the Instant Pot. Whisk in the starter, make sure to mix well. You can add sugar or vanilla now if you want.

2.Push the Yogurt button and make sure it says “Normal” NOT “Less”

3.Use the “+” and “-“ button to adjust the time to say 8:00 for 8 hours.

4.When the time is up, allow the yogurt to cool in the fridge overnight. Serve with some agave or Strawberry or Blueberry Compote! YUM!

Instant Pot Chili

Who doesn’t love a nice hot bowl of chili? As a kid, this was one of my favorite meals…. and it still is! Making it in the Instant Pot is just too easy to pass up, so I adapted our recipe for the Instant Pot.

This recipe is really simple, so get ready for a delicious dinner! 🙂

Start out by dicing the onion and bell pepper and mincing the garlic.

Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté mode and allow it to heat up before adding the olive oil. Add the ground beef and Cook until brown. Drain the grease then Add the onion, garlic and bell pepper and sauté 2-3 minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients and stir.

Close the lid, turn the venting knob to sealing and cook on HIGH pressure for 10 minutes before quickly releasing the rest of the pressure.

When all the pressure has released and the pin has dropped, carefully open the lid and stir.

-1 can diced tomatoes

-2 cans kidney beans

-1 cup beef broth

-1 tsp salt

-1 tsp black pepper

-1 tsp cumin

-1 tsp oregano

-1 bay leaf

-1 TBSP chili powder

-1 tsp sugar

-1 TBSP olive oil

-pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

1.Chop the bell peppers, onion, garlic.

2.Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté mode and allow it to heat up before adding the olive oil. Add the ground beef and Cook until brown. Drain the grease then Add the onion, garlic and bell pepper and sauté 2-3 minutes.

3.Add the rest of the ingredients and stir.

4.Close the lid, turn the venting knob to sealing and cook on HIGH pressure for 10 minutes before quickly releasing the rest of the pressure.

5.Stir.

6.Top with cheese and sour cream and enjoy!

Instant Pot Jambalaya

Just when I think I couldn’t love my Instant Pot anymore, I pull together a recipe like this Jambalaya and fall in love all over again! This is a simple, cajun recipe adjusted for the Instant Pot or Pressure cooker.

Which Instant Pot is best?

This recipe calls for Creole Seasoning, and if you have trouble finding it in the grocery store like I did, you can easily make your own. You probably have all of the ingredients on hand! Click here for a simple recipe: How to make Creole Seasoning. Easy!

Once you’ve made your Creole Seasoning, grab the rest of your ingredients and get ready for a flavorful dish! 🙂

Feel free to add shrimp or crawfish to this dish, I decided to stick with smoked sausage (instead of Andouille sausage) and chicken. The smoked sausage isn’t as spicy, and I have little mouths to feed! 🙂

Start out by chopping the onion, garlic, bell peppers, celery and tomatoes and set aside.

Slice the chicken and sausage. Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté mode and allow it to heat up before adding the olive oil. Add the sausage and chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add the seasonings, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth and rice and stir. (If you’re adding shrimp or crawfish, remove the tails and add them now.)

-1 12oz package of Andouille or Smoked sausage sliced

-1-2 Chicken breasts diced

-1 Onion diced

How to make Creole Seasoning. Easy!

Tonight we’re making Jambalaya in the Instant Pot and it calls for Creole seasoning. It’s so simple to make! Chances are, you already have all of the ingredients in your spice cabinet.

This is all you need:

-Salt

-Black Pepper

-Onion Powder

-Garlic Powder

-Paprika

-Thyme

-Dried Basil

-Oregano

-Cayenne Pepper

Add all of the ingredients to a small glass jar for storage.

Mix it all together, and store until use. That’s it! 🙂

Instant Pot Jambalaya 

Easy Hard Boiled Eggs- Instant Pot

One of the first things that I recommend new Instant Pot owners make is Hard boiled eggs. They’re SO simple and they peel so easily!

If you’re new to the Instant Pot, Start here:

Which Instant Pot is best?

There are a few different methods for making eggs in the Instant Pot, and you’ll discover what works best for you! I’ve found that what’s called the “5-5-5 method” works the best, but the “6-6-6- method” works as well.

What does that mean?? It means, you cook the eggs on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes, then when the timer  goes off, allow the pressure to release naturally for  5 minutes before releasing the rest of the pressure. THEN put the eggs into an ice bath for another  minutes. After that, you  can peel your eggs and you’ll see how easily the shells slide off.

If you notice your eggs aren’t cooked, you can try the 6-6-6 method exactly the same way, just adding an extra minute to each step.

Simple enough right?

Here we go.

Grab some eggs. As many as you want. I’ve done 18 at a time before. 🙂

For this recipe you can use the trivet that came with the Instant Pot, or you can use a steamer basket. Both will work perfectly!

Add 1 Cup of water to the Instant Pot. Then place the trivet in the bottom. Stack the eggs on top of the trivet. Close the Instant Pot and turn the venting knob to sealing. Cook the eggs on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes, then when the timer  goes off, allow the pressure to release naturally for  5 minutes before releasing the rest of the pressure.

Next, carefully lift the Instant Pot inner pot out and carry it to the sink using a towel or Instant Pot mitts. Fill with water and ice and leave the eggs to cool for at least 5 minutes.

Now you can peel your eggs, and watch how easily the shells slide off!

Directions

  1. Add 1 Cup of water to the Instant Pot.
  2. Add Trivet to Instant Pot and Stack eggs on the trivet.
  3. Close the lid, turn the knob to sealing and cook on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes. When the timer goes off, allow the pressure to release for another 5 minutes before releasing the rest of the pressure.
  4. Put the eggs into an ice bath for at least 5 minutes. Peel and eat!

Another simple, delicious and Kid-Approved Instant Pot meal! Such a good feeling when the kids love what you make… and the Instant Pot makes that easy for me! This recipe has just enough spice, and is packed full of protein! YUM!

Get ready for a super fast meal! 🙂 Here’s what you’ll need:

Start by turning the Instant Pot to Sauté and allowing it to heat up. Add 2 TBSP of oil. Add onion and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Pick your favorite meat, because the meat in this recipe can be substituted so easily! Ground beef, turkey or chicken works! Add 1 lb of your meat of choice to the pot and brown it. Drain the grease if necessary.

-1 can corn (optional)

-1-2 cups shredded cheese

-1/2 tsp pepper

-1 tsp chili powder

-1 tsp cumin

-1 tsp oregano

-1/2 tsp paprika

-1/2 tsp onion powder

-1/4 tsp cilantro leaves

-pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Banana Bread With Dulce de Leche

Oh my gosh!! I’ve never tasted anything like this… A delicious spin on a favorite treat! I have made it in the Instant Pot and in the oven and it is simply incredible either way! If you’ve never heard of the Instant Pot, start here: Instant Pot 101: Tips, Tricks and Must-Have Accessories.

If you’ve never heard of Dulce de Leche it’s a delicious caramel-like sauce that can be served with desserts… or eaten with a spoon, haha!! It’s so tasty, so I decided to add it to my banana bread recipe and it turned out amazing!

 

Grab your ingredients, and let’s get started!

Start out by sifting the flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda. Set aside.

 

 

Using a Mixer, Beat the butter and two kinds of sugar until smooth.

Add the mashed bananas, yogurt, vanilla, eggs and mix. Then slowly add the dry ingredients and mix well.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spray a 7-inch springform pan with non-stick cooking spray. Pour batter into the pan. Add Dulce de Leche to the top along with another handful of chocolate chips.

For the Instant Pot: Add 1 Cup of water to the Instant Pot.  Cover springform pan with foil, place on trivet and lower into the Instant Pot. Cook on HIGH pressure for 60 minutes. Allow a 10 minute natural pressure release before quickly releasing the pressure.

 

For the oven: Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool completely before cutting.

Serve and enjoy!

A simple and delicious way to prepare this dessert. Includes an Instant Pot recipe as well as an oven recipe.

Ingredients

-2 Cups Flour

-pinch of salt

-1 1/2tsp baking soda

-1 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 Cup white sugar

-1/2 Cup brown sugar

-1/2 Cup butter (1 stick) room temperature

-1/4 Cup Dulce de Leche

-1/4 Yogurt or sour cream

-1 tsp vanilla

-2 eggs

-2 mashed bananas

-1/2 Cup chocolate chips

Directions

  3. Add the eggs, mashed bananas, yogurt, vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips.

As if the Instant Pot wasn’t cool enough already, I recently discovered that it’s possible to make Dulce de Leche in the pot. And it’s SO simple!

If you’ve never heard of the Instant Pot start here: Instant Pot 101

Check out what happens:

This turns condensed milk into creamy, caramel-like deliciousness! 🙂

It’s so easy.

Grab your Instant Pot and place the trivet inside. Put the can on the trivet and then cover it with water. **NOTE: you can also pour the can of condensed milk into a small mason jar, put the lid on and prepare it the same way.

Cook on HIGH pressure for 30 minutes. Quickly release the pressure and then allow it to cool before handling.

Serve over ice cream, with yogurt, on a graham cracker, in any dessert, and of course, with Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Banana Bread with Dulce de Leche.

-1 can of sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  1. Place trivet in the Instant Pot. Put can on trivet and cover with water. **You can also pour the condensed milk into a mason jar, secure the lid and prepare it that way.
  2. Cook on HIGH pressure for 30 minutes. Allow it to cool completely before use.
  3. Serve over your favorite desserts or in some Instant Pot Chocolate Chip Banana Bread with Dulce de Leche.

Oh my goodness! You HAVE to try this Instant Pot recipe! It’s super simple and absolutely delicous! It’s kid approved! And I  am using this recipe to wow my parents tonight with their first Instant Pot experience! 🙂

-1 Jar of Homemade pasta sauce (24 oz)

-2 Cups water or chicken broth

-1/2 onion chopped

-1 Cup shredded parmesan cheese

-1 Cup shredded mozzarella cheese

-1/2 tsp Sea salt

-1/2 tsp pepper

-1 TBSP Italian Seasoning

-1 TBSP olive oil

1.Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté and allow it to heat up. Add 2 TBSP of oil. Add onion and garlic and sauté 2-3 minutes.

Who doesn’t love Cilantro Lime Rice? This is another thing I could eat daily! So simple… almost too simple 😉 Grab your Instant Pot and get ready!

Only a few ingredients and 20 minutes later you’ll have some delicious Chipotle copycat rice.

Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté. Allow it to heat up before adding the butter or oil. Add onion and garlic and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add the rice and saute for another 2 minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients. Close the lid and turn the knob to sealing. Cook on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes. Allow a 10 minute natural pressure release before quickly releasing the pressure.

Add more lime juice if needed and enjoy!

A delicious Instant Pot version of Cilantro Lime Rice!

Ingredients

 

-2 Cups White Rice

-3 Cups Chicken Broth or water

-1/2 onion diced

-2-3 cloves garlic minced

-1/4 Cup lime juice

-1 Tbsp lime zest

-1/2 tsp salt

-1/2 tsp pepper

-2 Tbsp butter or olive oil

 

Directions
